Most health insurance companies cover nutrition counseling, in addition to medical nutrition therapy
Nutrition counseling is typically considered a preventive care visit and is 100% covered!
What insurance companies does Altitude Sport & Performance Nutrition participate with?
Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. At this time, Medicare only covers a visit if you have diabetes or renal disease.
If you have Medicaid, the State of Colorado does not cover nutrition services outside of a medical provider office.
Can I use insurance for Telehealth visits?
We can work together and check your benefits to determine if Telehealth services are covered under your plan.
What if you are not participating in my insurance coverage?
We can still see you but it will be billed at the cash rate of $85/hr, billed in 7 minute increments. (Think of it like a lawyer but a lot cheaper!)
